Course overview

This one day course is designed to give an overview of what is Information Governance (IG) and the requirements to support and deliver an effective agenda in your organisation. IG is the management of information and how to establish a framework for employees to handle data through robust policies and procedures.  The legal framework governing the use of personal data is complex, this course will help in understanding those complexities and what standards must practices meet for information governance, information security governance framework and what needs to be considered. We will present practical scenario's to consider and discuss.

9.30 - What is information governance, structure, legal framework and national picture. Responsibilities for information governance officer/manager. What is information governance in healthcare and public sector. 

11.30 -  Coffee 

11.45 - Privacy notices, personal and special category data, principle of remote working, safe haven, Social media, use of memory sticks, parental responsibility and Information sharing . Information governance toolkit (DSPT).

13.00 - Lunch 

13.30 - Data Breaches, The role of the Data Protection Officer,    Data Protection Impact Assessment's, What is information asset management and asset information management

14.45 - Coffee 

15.00 - Data Flow mapping and building an information  management culture 

16.00 - Summary and Final Questions

When will I be advised of the venue location?

Exact location are sent out via email, two weeks before the course, we would therefore advise you not to book accommodation until the venue is confirmed.
